Orange Creamsicle Protein Shake

By Michelle | December 30, 2016

If you need an energizing breakfast ready in a few minutes or post-workout shake, than this is what you need. This smoothie happens to taste just like an old-fashioned Creamsicle. Just one serving of this frothy and fresh shake contains 29 grams of protein, plus one big amount of Calcium and vitamin C.

It contains half a cup of unsweetened almond milk, which is great alternative to cow milk. Almond milk is full of protein and it has unique flavor, which are the two things that we need to make this smoothie really really delicious! It also doesn’t require refrigeration, so it’s safer to use it in shakes during the hot summer days and you can carry it to your gym or to work.

It also contains protein powder which helps in losing fat and preserving muscles. Protein powder is also good in reducing of symptoms of stress and depression as well as in increasing lifespan. Orange juice is there to make things interesting with it’s beautiful flavor and vitamin C. If you want the smoothie to be sweeter, use honey or brown sugar to achieve that. Ice cubes are going to make your smoothie cool, but also it will become thicker. You can fix that by adding cold water or a bit more of almond milk.

One of the best protein shakes out there. It’s rich in vitamin C and Calcium, and packed with lots of proteins.

Peanut Butter Protein Bomb Smoothie

By Michelle | December 30, 2016

Sometimes, you want a really strong chocolate smoothie. Other times, you want a healthy greenish smoothie. Well, the two don’t need to be mutually exclusive. This smoothie is a sort of healthy green smoothie disguised as a peanut butter chocolate smoothie – it has veggies and plenty of protein, but it tastes rich and chocolaty at the same time.

This smoothie contains about 15 grams of protein, but if you decide to un-veganize the smoothie and use milk, dairy ice cream or yogurt instead of the soy milk, you could increase the content of protein even more. Pretty decent amount of protein comes from banana, cherries and kale, but chia seeds, peanut butter and soy milk do the most of the work.

The smoothie itself will be super thick when you are done blending. If you like it to be a little thinner, then just add more soy milk (or cow milk, if you are not a vegan). I also use a coconut milk ice cream, so you can let it melt a bit before blending, too.

This is one of those ninja smoothies – it contains greens and tastes rich and sweet, which is a perfect combination of enjoying and getting valuable nutrients at the same time.
